When you want to set up direct deposit you will come across the Percentage of refund to apply to this account (xx.xx) field. I have no idea what ProConnect is looking for.

What do I do if I don’t want to split the refund?
Do I leave the field blank?
What if I want to split the refund — do I enter a percentage like 50%?
Do I enter 50.00?
What does (xx.xx) mean?

I found this article on the IRS website — Frequently Asked Questions about Splitting Federal Income Tax Refund which talks about entering dollar amounts.

Intuit ProConnect / Direct Deposit
Percentage of refund to apply to this account — ProConnect Direct Deposit

This article does not really answer any of my ProConnect questions above as it is an IRS resource but I haven’t found anything else remotely helpful. Head shaking … and 🙄 looking at you Intuit.

In my particular case I don’t even want to split the refund so I am planning to leave that field empty.

I would be particularly interested to hear what others have to say about this. Thank you.
